TRANSFORMING AMBITION
INTO IMPACT

All around the world, people’s desire to achieve greater is pervasive and persistent. Education is the catalyst to transform that ambition into a better future. At 2U, the company behind global online learning platform edX, we believe in the transformative power of high-quality online education to create a stronger, happier, and more resilient society. Our 2022 Transparency & Outcomes Report highlights important metrics and powerful stories in our journey to deliver world-class learning outcomes at scale alongside the world’s top institutions.

OUR COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY

This annual report reflects 2U’s continued industry-leading commitment to sharing key facts, figures, and insights about our partnerships, programs, and the edX platform. Leading in transparency: It’s the greatest way to ensure we're providing high-quality education that makes a difference for all.

CREATING PATHWAYS TO OPPORTUNITY AT EVERY AGE AND STAGE

We believe that more equitable access to high-quality education is the key to social mobility and economic security. Together with our partners, we are committed to offering all learners the skills, knowledge, and support they need at every age and stage of their lives. Expanding access to learners from all backgrounds remains a top priority for 2U. Open courses on edX have attracted over 141M+ enrollments worldwide, and we’ve made meaningful strides in increasing diversity in our tech programs through Access Partnerships, a workforce development model that makes job-relevant tech skills available to marginalized or underserved communities at little or no cost.

35% of students in edX-powered degree programs and 27% of edX boot camp learners were Black, Hispanic, or Indigenous

This program afforded me the freedom to break through socioeconomic barriers that have previously stunted my ability to advance the tech skills I needed to pursue my goals. I’m grateful I got my foot in the door and am now getting real cyber experience.
